Alright already, I’m doing it.

After:

  • Writing for clients for 7 years

  • Managing more than 2,000 email campaigns

  • Serving as the CEO of a multi-7-figure coaching business

  • Building an email marketing agency

I’ve finally decided to put on my “guru hat” and start a free, action-packed daily newsletter for copywriters where I share the BUSINESS SIDE of copywriting.

The way I see it, there are wayyyy more than enough experts and teachers showing you how to write copy.

That’s not to say I won’t one day teach my own approach, but for this moment, I don’t feel compelled to.

What I do feel compelled to share though is the BUSINESS SIDE of copywriting.

You see… I’ve always had an issue with the whole “laptop lifestyle,” or “digital nomad” image that all these copywriters get in their heads. You know what I’m talking about…

The “dream life” where you charge clients a premium for your services, kick back on some beach in Tahiti, and work “when you want, where you want.”

I have a few major problems with this “vision for life” that prominent gurus plant in the minds of young copywriters. Let’s list two of them:

  1. I achieved it. In 2024 and for the first half of 2025, I was killing it as a freelance copywriter. And I had a lot of free time on my hands. So as a husband and father, I thought my life would be peaches and rainbows as my kids and I hung out together 24/7. But inside, I felt like something was off. Yes, I loved the extra family time, but also… optimizing my life for leisure felt unnatural. Un-Godly, even. I came to a conviction that “God wants us to do meaningful work.” So I merged my boutique email copywriting business with a brand design agency and started working more. And you know what?… It made my leisure time feel that much more special because I was using my talents in ways God intended.

  2. The other thing about the “laptop lifestyle” that’s always bothered me, is that it encourages copywriters to stay trapped in mediocrity forever. When you’re a beach-bum copywriter, let me tell you what you don’t have: A BUSINESS. YOU DON’T HAVE A BUSINESS. You know what that means? Everything depends on you. Every project, every deadline, and every sale requires your labor and involvement. So yeah… you have a lot of “freedom”… but do you really? It seems to me like you have 10 bosses all requiring A+ work from you. And while you’re traveling the world or hanging out at the local country club, you’ve got work in the back of your mind 24/7. You’ve got projects that you have to complete taking up all your mental capacity. That’s why I transitioned from freelancer to agency owner.

I have a vision for this daily newsletter: help the best copywriters become even better business people.

I want to show you how to approach copywriting like a businessman/woman. I want to show you how to:

  • Build equity in your copywriting business

  • Get clients

  • Create systems for scale

  • Hire copywriters who are better than you (😱 “what did he just say?? doesn’t he know that I want to be the BEST IN THE WORLD?”)

Let me elaborate on that last point:

I know, I know… elite copywriters like to romanticize the craft. That’s why you spend thousands of dollars on courses and templates you’re never gonna use 😅

But I will be the first to freely admit that I am not an “A-Lister.” In fact, I doubt most of your favorite copywriting gurus even know who I am. And yet, my team and I manage email copy for more than 60 clients right now, and my agency will do multiple seven figures in revenue in 2026.

You know why that is?…

Because I don’t waste my time stroking the egos of the “gurus” or worrying about my “A-List” or “B-List” status in the industry.

Do you really think clients are sitting there going “yeah, he’s good… but we should get an ‘A-List’ copywriter to do this.”

Copywriters are the only people in the business world who I have ever heard utter the term “A-Lister.” 🙄

You know what clients want?…

RESULTS!!

Clients DO NOT CARE how you stack up in “The Great Copywriting Status Games!™️” They care about the outcome of your work.

One of the reasons I’ve been able to run circles around other copywriters is that I openly want to recruit copywriters and email specialists who are BETTER THAN ME to help me.

That’s how you scale a BUSINESS.

Now look… if you don’t want to understand the business side of copywriting, that’s ok. But if you’re at least curious about another path…

A way to build a great income and build value for the future…

A way to have clients singing your praises without you having to be the bottleneck for every project…
